Join Trident Ploughshares for London actions calling on NATO countries and Russia to sign the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW)!
The first review meeting of the 60 countries who have so-far ratified the TPNW agreed at the UN in 2017, is to take place from 21-23 June 2022 in Vienna. On 16th June there are to be European-wide actions to call on NATO countries and Russia to sign the Treaty.
In London there will be a series of half-hour vigils at the Russian, French and German embassies and at 10 Downing Street calling on the four countries to renounce the threat of nuclear weapon use and to sign the TPNW. There will also be leafleting of the general public at each place.
The timetable is:
10:00am-10:30am near the Russian Embassy at the junction of Kensington Palace Gardens and Bayswater Road, W8
11:00am-11:30am at the French Embassy at 58 Knightsbridge SW1
12:00 noon-12:30pm at German Embassy, 23 Belgrave Square/Chesham Place SW1
1:30pm-2:00pm outside Downing Street.
We’ll be taking the tube between the Russian and French Embassies and walking from the French Embassy to Downing Street via the German Embassy.
